Baby in a Blanket Cupcake

There are plenty of cake decorating ideas found on the internet today. Some of these could even be utilized to embellish cupcakes. Here is one great idea that you could do if you are making cupcakes for a baby shower or baptism:

The first thing you need to do is frost the cupcake with vanilla frosting. Spread it thoroughly and remove the top mound using an offset spatula. Dip the sides of the cupcake in colored sugar to achieve a perfectly round edge. Set the cupcake aside to prepare the next items you will need.

Grab a large marshmallow and cut it in half lengthwise. Put one half of the marshmallow on top of the cupcake for the baby’s pillow. Get a softened fruit chew and roll it flat on wax paper using a rolling pin. This will serve as the baby’s blanket. Cut off its edges with a crafting scissors or pastry wheel for a decorative touch. Wrap the other half of your cut marshmallow with it. Position it vertically just below the marshmallow pillow.

For the baby’s head, you need to place mini vanilla wafer cookies on the marshmallow pillow. Use some frosting to secure it in place. Use dark chocolate frosting to add some facial features on the cookies. You can use small heart sprinkles as the mouth.

As an added accent, you can also put bear shaped cookies on the side of the cupcakes or baby bottles made from fruit chew and marshmallow.
