Bridal Shower Butterfly Cake

First Name: Sarah
City-State: Glendale, Arizona

This beautiful Butterfly Cake was made using 12×3 and 8×3 round spring form pans. It is a Yellow Marble Cake frosted in a vibrant orange vanilla butter cream frosting.

The cake was for a bridal shower where the Bride’s wedding colors were a sunset theme. I wanted the cake to fit into that but also reflect her excitement for the wedding day.

I used a simple white ribbon, with a yellow flower print, to wrap around the bases to add some more color and contrast to the cake. I piped on the dots above the ribbon with a number 10 tip. I chose to make Royal Frosting butterflies as accents by piping out the designs with a medium-firm royal frosting onto greased plastic wrap with a pattern underneath, and then flooded them with a very thin royal frosting. I then attached the butterflies to the cake and plate with the same orange butter cream as it was frosted in.

It was a huge hit and the perfect touch to make her shower extra special.
