Bud Light Cake

First Name: Cris
City-State: Harlingen, Texas

To make this cake, I used a 11×15″ cake pan. I then cut it in half and stacked it. It is a white cake filled with buttercream.

The “wood” pieces are made of fondant. These were made the day before to allow for sufficient hardening. I simply cut rectangles out of fondant. I laid the pieces down on a piece of wax paper so that they would dry flat. They vary in size and shape a little. I thought this would add a little more character to the look of the cake. They were then airbrushed brown and the “grain” of the “wood” was hand painted with a brush and food coloring.

I used a bottle mold and sugar to make the bottles. I used sugar substitute (isomalt) for the “ice”. The peanuts are made of fondant and the grass was simply piped with buttercream. The silver band around the cake was made of fondant and colored silver with luster dust. This was a really fun cake to make!
