Ikara Makes a $130,000.00 Dollar Cake!
How much did the last cake that you made cost you? One dollar? Ten dollars? Well imagine making a cake that cost $130,000.00! Nobue Ikara, the famous Japanese pastry chef has baked a cake that cost over one hundred thousand dollars as a tribute to women.
The cake is made from platinum and is not edible. Now I don’t now why anyone would make a cake that isn’t edible but that is what Ikara has done, and in the process he has inspired thousands of youth to follow their dream of making expensive cakes for a living. It is a truly a beautiful thing when one mans childhood dream can manifest itself in such a beautiful way.
Although this cake is a beautiful tribute and an example of what one can do if you follow your childhood dream Ikara has an ulterior motive. He said that he hopes this cake will increase platinum sales in japan which have been steadily declining following the economic meltdown.
Ikara has set a wonderful example and has personally inspired me to bake a cake. If he can do it then so can I. I hope everyone will bake a cake today and think of Ikara as they are baking.
